Jacksonville police investigating overnight double shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were hospitalized following a double shooting in the Moncrief neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers called to West 36th Street near Moncrief Road about 1 a.m. learned a man had been shot, according to a police report. The report said a second man was found shot on Long Branch Boulevard.

The men, ages 20 and 24, were taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest, the Sheriff's Office said. Both are expected to survive.

Police on scene said it appears the victims were inside a car when the shooting unfolded. No suspect information was immediately released.
