Clay County deputy recovering after Middleburg crash

Sheriff's office says motorcycle deputy is in stable condition


MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A Clay County deputy is recovering after a crash Wednesday evening.

The deputy was on his Sheriff's Office motorcycle about 6 p.m., riding on County Road 2018 near Long Horn Road, when deputies hit hit a vehicle that pulled in front of him. 

Thursday morning, the Sheriff's Office said the deputy, whose name has not been released, is in stable condition and the Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

"We ask that the community continue to keep those involved in this crash within your thoughts and prayers, as the support you’ve shown has already been incredibly overwhelming," the Sheriff's Office posted on Twitter.
