Deputies: Child porn found when Navy employee's home raided

Jeremy Conner, 26, charged with 10 counts of child porn possession

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A Naval Air Station Jacksonville commissary employee was arrested Wednesday after deputies searching his Orange Park home said they found 10 or more images of sexual abuse and bestiality involving children.

Jeremy Conner, 26, is charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search warrant and a tactical team raided Conner's home on Elan Court, near Blanding Boulevard, Wednesday morning as the result of an undercover sting operation targeting those who distribute child porn on the internet.

"We take a zero-tolerance (approach) when it comes to any type of exploitation of children," the lead undercover detective in the case told News4Jax.

Investigators said Conner was using a person-to-person file-sharing site that allowed illegal images to be shared with others. Although detectives said they don’t believe the children in the images are from Clay County, they’re still awaiting confirmation from a forensics specialist.

According to the Sheriff's Office, one of the images found in Conner’s home depicts a child under age 5.

Conner, who told deputies he worked at the commissary at NAS Jacksonville, was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail, where he was being held on $100,000 bond as of Thursday evening.

The lead detective said the transmission of child porn has become so prevalent in Clay County that he’s seeing new cases on his desk almost every day. He said the cases are being discovered thanks to tracking software that locates offenders.

“This specific case involved the Clay County Sheriff’s Office using an undercover online law enforcement software program that actually tracks offenders who are actually sharing or possessing child pornography," the detective said.

The investigation is not yet complete because detectives said they still have an array of seized files to search through.
