2 men shot in Island Life Grill parking lot early Sunday morning

Authorities are searching for four of six men involved in shooting

FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that happened in the parking lot of the Island Life Grill in Fleming Island around 1 a.m. Sunday.

According to authorities, the gunfire started during an argument between six men. Two of those men were shot in the leg and are expected to recover. Deputies are still searching for the other four men involved in the incident.

People living near the area said the shooting has them on edge in what they said was normally a quiet community.

"I never thought it would happen right here, especially in this area," said Middleburg resident Christopher Villalva.

"Never. Never. Never would think something like this would happen in one of the neighborhoods around here," said Fleming Island resident Brandon Sparks.

While it's considered a tight-knit community, the area outside the Island Life Grill was littered with cigarette butts, broken beer bottles and drug paraphernalia.

The shooting has left residents shaken up.

"I am concerned. I know the neighborhood will come together," said Sparks.

Detectives are not sure if the four suspects left in a vehicle or on foot.
