JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – News4Jax sources confirmed Jacksonville police were sent to the Westside Monday night to search for two suspects in connection to the shooting death of a 7-year-old girl.
The newsroom received numerous phone calls about the police presence in the area of 103rd Street and Hillman Drive.
The scene was just blocks from where the young girl was killed when she was hit by gunfire Saturday evening. An $11,000 reward is being offered for information leading to arrests in her death.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the police presence was due to an active criminal investigation. JSO did not confirm the crime police were investigating.
After a few hours, the Sheriff's Office said it did not locate who it was looking for.
