Deputies: Hundreds of child porn images found on man's computer

Freddie Schultz, 60, charged with 10 counts of child porn possession

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. – A Middleburg man was arrested Friday morning on 10 counts of possession of child pornography, authorities said.

Freddie Schultz, 60, was taken into custody following a multiagency investigation that included Homeland Security, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

According to an arrest report obtained by News4Jax, on Jan. 18, detectives showed up at Schultz’s Middleburg home along Glen Laurel Drive with a search warrant to look for evidence of child pornography.

"To just come and see a bunch of cop cars and (a) crime scene investigation is a little terrifying," neighbor Tia Sneddon said. "That's something you never want to hear about in your neighborhood."

Neighbors said the street was flooded with law enforcement officers, including a SWAT team, as the search warrant was executed at Schultz's home.

"You saw cop cars lining the entire neighborhood, all the way down to our house and past our house," neighbor Crystal Patrick said.

The arrest report states that when Schultz was questioned about child pornography, he requested an attorney.

During their search, deputies seized numerous electronics from his property and detectives found hundreds of images of small children being sexually exploited, according to the report.

Although much of the five-page report has been redacted, it did mention files of numerous child victims.

"He seemed very nice," neighbor Jo Kase said. "He really did -- like an ordinary neighbor."

As of Friday evening, Schultz remained in the Clay County jail until he goes before a judge Saturday morning for a bond hearing.

When News4Jax went to Schultz's home to ask family members about the charges, they declined to comment.

Court records show he has no prior convictions on sex-related charges.
