FHP: 5 teens hospitalized after pickup strikes pole

1 of 5 suffered life-threatening injuries in Flagler County crash, troopers say

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – Five teenagers were injured in a crash Monday afternoon in southern Flagler County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said a 16-year-old was behind the wheel when his pickup truck struck a concrete utility pole at Airport Road and Hunters Ridge Boulevard, near the Flagler-Volusia county line. He had a passenger in the bed of his truck who was thrown onto the ground from the impact.

The driver and and Colen were transported to AdventHealth Hospital with serious injuries, Dalton Sean and Robert were taken to Halifax of Daytona Hospital also in serious condition.

All five people in the pickup are between the ages of 15-18 years old. They were taken to area hospitals with minor to serious injuries, troopers said.

According to the Highway Patrol, charges are pending and it's unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor.
