Truck crashes into front of Sandalwood home

Driver was not hurt in crash, son says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A truck crashed into the front of a Sandalwood home Tuesday evening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The home is located on Mindanao Drive near the intersection of Happy Vale Road, which is near Atlantic Boulevard.

According to a man who spoke to News4Jax, his mother was operating the vehicle. He said they live across the street from the home that was struck.

9-year-old James Alujue said he was the only person inside the home at the time of the crash.

"I was playing on my cellphone, and suddenly, my couch started moving," James said. "Very scary."

James was not hurt in the crash, nor were the mom and son who were inside the truck. They asked not to be identified.

The driver of the truck received a citation from police. It's unclear how the crash happened.
