JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Health inspectors recently headed to restaurants in St. Johns, Columbia and Duval counties, where they said tidy and tainted kitchens were found.
News4Jax dug through pages of restaurant inspection reports to find which places passed and which ones failed.
Yummy Asian Bistro
Amazing, delicious and yummy are how one Asian restaurant in St. Johns County describes its food. But according to state regulators' records, six high-priority violations were found Friday at Yummy Asian Bistro on County Road 210 near Russell Sampson Road.
Records show the violations included four live roaches and 20 dead roaches under the dishwasher, fryers and shelves throughout the kitchen. Inspectors also said employees were working without hair restraints or gloves.
The staff members said they got rid of all the bugs.
VIEW INSPECTION REPORTS: Yummy Asian Bistro
During a follow-up inspection Wednesday, according to state records, one high-priority violation was found. Inspectors said raw chicken was stored over ready-to-eat sauces inside a walk-in cooler.
The restaurant is now waiting on another follow-up inspection.
The Country Club at Lake City
In Columbia County, the Country Club at Lake City on Fairway Drive briefly closed March 11 for nine high-priority violations, according to state records.
Inspectors said roaches and other flying insects were found dead in several areas of the kitchen, and more than 170 roach and rodent droppings were spotted.

Inspectors revisited the kitchen on March 19 and allowed it to reopen once it had zero high-priority violations.
Lum Thai Restaurant
Lum Thai Restaurant on Argyle Forest Boulevard was temporarily shut down March 11 for two high-priority violations, state records show.
Inspectors said they found nine live roaches and 15 dead roaches inside the establishment. Records also show a critical citation was issued for raw ground beef stored over cooked chicken.
