Ocala man seriously hurt after head-on collision in Clay County


CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 43-year-old Ocala man is in critical condition after Florida Highway Patrol said he was hit head-on by another vehicle.

FHP said James Johnson, 74, drove his Ford Explorer over the center line on State Road 100 near County Road 214 in Clay County and hit Bryan Burnett head on. 

Burnett's vehicle flipped over and landed on its roof.

Both men were taken to Shands Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.

At last check, Burnett was in critical condition. Johnson's injuries were considered minor, according to the FHP.
