Jacksonville teen who disappeared Saturday found safe in Virginia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville family relieved after their 16-year-old daughter who disappeared Saturday was found safe near Richmond, Virginia.

The family said she disappeared from her apartment complex on Art Museum Drive about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Her family just moved to Jacksonville from Georgia and the family is unsure where she would go. The girl's mother said the teen was focused on school and going to college, and that it doesn't make sense that she left home.

The Henrico County, Virginia, police posted on Facebook on Monday afternoon that the girl was found safe, but provided no details.
