CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A Clay County deputy was arrested and charged with domestic battery, the Clay County Sheriff's Office announced Monday evening.
According to the arrest report News4Jax obtained Tuesday evening, Ben Schueler, 39, was arrested Monday morning. A woman, who the report said was married but separated from Schueler, told deputies she got out of a chair in a bedroom to leave, when Schueler grabbed her and put her on the ground.
The woman told investigators she then grabbed Schueler's phone and attempted to call 911, the Sheriff's Office said. As she attempted to call, Schueler would hang the phone up using his Apple watch. She said Schueler eventually gave her back her cellphone, which she used to call 911.
