Young person shot in Jacksonville's Norwood neighborhood

Police searching for shooter


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are investigating a shooting that injured a young person in Norwood.

Officers were dispatched to Chestnut Drive, just off of Pearl Street around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.

They first heard gunshots on the block, and then, two to three minutes later, they heard the victim arrived at an area hospital. JSO said his injuries were non-life-threatening and the victim is expected to be okay.

Officers are searching for the shooter but said there is no reason to believe the public is in immediate danger at this time.
