Slowly but surely? National gas prices drop 1-cent on Wednesday

Prices are also down in Florida, Georgia

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gas prices are down slightly for the third day in a row.

The National average is $4.30 -- that’s down one cent from yesterday. Prices are also down here in Florida and in Georgia.

In Florida, the average gallon of regular gas is $4.31. In Georgia, drivers are paying $4.26.

Let’s take a look at our local counties:

  • Duval: $4.29
  • Clay: $4.25
  • St. Johns: $4.31
  • Baker: $4.17
  • Nassau: $4.33

This week crude oil prices also dropped back below $100 per barrel -- but a spokesperson for AAA said it will take time to notice a price drop at the pump.

If crude oil prices stay where they are -- gas prices could drop by as much as 20 cents per gallon. That would still be more than a dollar more than a year ago.
