JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Another high-level district official is leaving the Duval County School District.

Beth Gonzalez, the district’s assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, has submitted her resignation. In it, she said she was leaving for an opportunity outside of the state "to lead like work."

This resignation comes a little more than a month after Chief of Schools Iranetta Wright submitted her resignation to the district. Earlier this month, former Sandalwood High School principal Vickie Schultz was approved as her replacement.

District officials said Wednesday that Gonzalez position will not be filled.

Chief Academic Officer Mason Davis, who was Gonzalez's supervisor, will manage curriculum and instruction.
