Clear skies, perfect night to view the Geminids meteor shower

JACKSONVILLE, Fla – Sunny and cool this afternoon.  Warming up with scattered showers possible by the end of the week.

The breeze will slowly subside as area wide temperatures will be cooler than normal.  Warmer temperatures the next couple of days with a slight chance of scattered showers Friday.  Great looking forecast for the Jacksonville Bank Marathon and the Jags game.

Today:  Mostly sunny skies with below normal afternoon highs.  Area wide temperatures in the low 50s to upper 50s in SE GA, upper 50s across NE FL.  Wind WNW 5-10 mph.  Clear skies will make for the perfect backdrop tonight for the Geminids meteor shower.  Best viewing from midnight to 4 am Thursday

Thursday:  Becoming partly cloudy with near seasonal afternoon highs.  Wake up temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s across SE GA, low 40s to mid 40s in NE FL.  Wind SW 5-10 mph.  Afternoon highs in the 60s in SE GA, upper 60s to low 70s in NE FL.

Weekend:  Showers will wrap up Friday for a pleasant weekend.  Saturday and the Jacksonville Bank Marathon low 40s with highs in the low 60s, partly cloudy.  Sunday, Jags Game, lows in the mid to upper 40s with highs in the low 70s, showers possible late.
