Camden County gets $250K for safety improvements

Restriping, drainage among the projects targeted

WOODBINE, Ga. – The Camden County Board of Commissioners was recently awarded a Fiscal Year 2018 Federal Off-System Safety Project grant in the amount of $250,000.

The grant funding will provide safety improvement that include restriping an drainage on 53.29 miles of country roads.

"We are very excited to receive this funding,” said Camden County Public Works Director Harvey Amerson. “This is a great opportunity for us to improve the safety of our county roads."

The county roads receiving improvements as a part of this grant will include portions of Colerain West, Dover Bluff Road, Greenville Road, Harrietts Bluff Road, Incachee Road, New Post Road, Old Highway 259, Refuge Road, and Vacuna Road. Fieldwork is now underway and the project is expected to begin by June 2018.
