Teen injured in drive-by shooting in Northwest Jacksonville

Police looking for Hyundai Sonata involved

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A teenager was shot in the leg in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in Northwest Jacksonville, authorities said. 

According to Lt. John Gay with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the 15-year-old boy was walking on West 13th Street when the shooting happened about 9:30 p.m.

The victim told investigators a white Hyundai Sonata drove by with multiple people inside, and someone began firing gunshots from the vehicle. The vehicle took off from the scene, investigators said.

Gay described the teenager's injuries as non-life-threatening.  

Investigators said there were witnesses to the shooting, who are being interviewed.
