JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The body of a dead man was found early Tuesday morning in the water near the McGirts Creek Bridge under Blanding Boulevard near the Duval-Clay County line.
The man was reported to have fallen off the McGirts Creek Bridge into the water around 2:20 a.m. He was found at 6:44 a.m.
Police said that the unidentified man, was likely a transient. There were no signs of foul play or struggle, according to police. An autopsy will be performed to determine whether drugs, alcohol or foul play was involved.
Police believe the man to be between 30 and 40 years old.
