ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Firefighters from St. Johns County Fire and Rescue extinguished a house fire in St. Augustine early Saturday morning.

The home is located on Herbert Street, which is near King Street, just west of US-1.

Initial calls to 911 dispatchers just after 6 a.m. Saturday reported flames showing from the single-family home. The home had been evacuated.

It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to bring the situation under control.

A SJCFR investigator was on the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

The homeowner's sister lives in the home. The family dog was also able to escape without injury.

"Thank you. There's not much we can do anyway. We've just got to tear it down and rebuild," said Gwen Phillips.
