Authorities say Howe accidentally shot and killed 13-year-old Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus when he took a pistol out of his backpack while taking the bus to school on November 20, 2012. It fired, striking Guzman-DeJesus in the neck.

Howe is expected to be transferred to the Miami-Dade County Jail.
