Deputies search for man accused of kidnapping, beating woman

Detectives say wanted man believed to frequent poker games in Clay County

KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. – Detectives with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a man accused of kidnapping and beating a woman, and then taking off in her car.

Timothy Ray Little, 49, of Keystone Heights, is wanted on charges of kidnapping, aggravated battery, robbery and grand theft auto, deputies said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Little got into an argument with his girlfriend over money, and held the woman against her will and beat her up when she refused to give him the money. He then stole her vehicle and took off, deputies said.

The victim on Monday sent News4Jax photos of her injuries.

Detectives believe Little frequents poker games in Keystone Heights, Middleburg and Palatka.

News4Jax has also learned that Little was arrested before, when he was accused of trying to steal cosmetics from the J.C. Penney store in Orange Park with a woman.

Gil Smith, News4Jax crime and safety analyst, said his gambling habit may help deputies find Little, or he could have gone north to Michigan, where he was born.

"There is also a chance he could go back to Michigan, depending on the friends and family ties he has there," Smith said.

Anyone with information on Little’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 904-264-6512.
