'Pokemon Go' players warned not to trespass at cemeteries

Clay County Sheriff's Office says most cemeteries in county are privately owned

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – "Pokemon Go" game players have been trespassing at Clay County cemeteries, most of which are privately owned, the Clay County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

The Sheriff's Office said there were reports of trespassing across the county this weekend linked to "Pokemon Go" players.

Deputies warned that most cemeteries in the county are privately owned and game players are trespassing when they enter them without the owners' permission. Several cemetery owners have even posted "no trespassing" signs specifically targeted at "Pokemon Go" users and hired off-duty deputies to prevent players from interrupting grieving family members at gravesites, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook, saying, "this trespassing will be taken seriously by the property owners and by our deputies."
