SEMINOLE, Fla. - Authorities are investigating after a teenager was shot by his friend at a home in Seminole.
The shooting happened Sunday afternoon.
Deputies say the boys had just returned from baseball practice. They went into a room where the 16-year-old was showing his 14-year-old friend a .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle.
The Tampa Tribune reports the rifle fired, hitting the younger teen in the stomach. He was taken by helicopter to a hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening.
No adults were home at the time. Deputies say no charges will be filed against the 16-year-old.
