Brentwood home catches fire; no one hurt

Jacksonville Fire Rescue believes home is abandoned

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters responded to a house fire in Brentwood on Sunday morning. It happened about 10 a.m. West 16th Street between Silver and North Laura Streets.

According to Jacksonville Fire-Rescue District 4 Fire Chief Robin Gainey, it appeared to be an abandoned home and no one was hurt in the blaze.

The fire started around 10 a.m. Sunday. Smoke and flames came from the roof as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.

Power was cut to home according to Gainey. There is no word on what caused the fire.
