Microsoft opens store at St. Johns Town Center

Grand opening includes free concert by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People lined up for blocks outside a Microsoft retail store that opened its doors for the first time Friday morning at the St. Johns Town Center.

The grand opening ceremony began at 10:30 a.m.

The first customers received prizes and free tickets to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in concert Saturday. The special performance will take place in the south parking lot of St. Johns Town Center near Dick's Sporting Goods.

Gates open for the concert at noon. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis will not make an appearance at the store during the grand opening ceremony on Friday and will just perform at St. Johns Town Center on Saturday in celebration of the grand opening of the new Microsoft retail store.

The is selling the newly released Xbox One at its store.

As a part of the Microsoft retail store's commitment to the local community, the Microsoft retail store was making software donations to local community organizations during the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Microsoft retail store at the St. Johns Town Center will provide many products and services:

  • Assortment of products, including Surface, Windows 8 PCs, Windows Phones, Kinect for Xbox 360, Office products and more.
  • A range of tech trainings, business-ready PCs, phones and more.
  • Community organizations regularly host events in the theater space and store associates will go out in the community to support local causes.
