Neighbors in Lackawanna tell Channel 4 man was shot, killed in driveway

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police continued to investigate at a home in Lackawanna after a 31-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday in a driveway.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office were called to the home on Detroit Street at West Beaver Street.   Late Monday, police identified the victim as Lionel Jerome Griswold, who lived on West 16th Street.

A man who didn't want to give his name said he saw several people running away from the home seconds after the shooting.

"It was loud, it sounded like a cannon. I figured it was some, I thought it might have been an AK-47."

He said the house has had a lot of foot traffic in the last week, since someone new moved in. The man said a bullet hit the home next door, where a family lives.

"Glad nobody was hurt. She's got six little kids in here and I just thank God that none of them were hurt. I've known some of them since they've been born."

The man says overall his neighborhood is a good one and he hopes this will be the last time something like this happens again.
