Police find man shot, killed on Jacksonville's Westside

JSO searching for suspect involved in a shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly shooting on Jacksonville's Westside.

Officers received a report of a shooting on Lambing Road around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived they found a man, between the ages of 18 and 21-years-old, on the side of the street with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital where he later died. 

JSO asked people who live in the area to shelter in place as they searched for the shooter. Neighbors said they heard five to ten gunshots.

Officers located a vehicle near the scene of the shooting that was riddled with bullet holes. Police did not release any suspect information, but they believe the suspect did flee the scene.
