Ex-cat sanctuary owner facing new charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A former cat sanctuary owner is facing new charges.

Earlier this year, Craig Grant, of Ponte Vedra Beach, was accused of neglecting hundreds of cats at his Caboodle Ranch in Madison County.

He was charged with four counts of animal cruelty, and now he faces four new counts of unlawful disposal of animals.

In February, police and animal rights activists raided the sanctuary, rescuing nearly 700 cats. Many were taken to Jacksonville for treatment, and more than 600 have been adopted.

Grant has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
