Driver crashes into center median guardrail on Interstate 95

Millions of travelers are hitting the roads for Thanksgiving travel.

PALM COAST, Fla. – A 10-year-old girl was killed Friday in a single-car crash on Interstate 95 near Palm Coast Parkway in Flagler County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. 

Thomas Rando, 31, of Palm Coast, was driving south on the Interstate 95 entrance from Palm Coast Parkway at 6:27 p.m. when lost control of the Ford F-150 he was driving, troopers said.

Rando crossed all three lanes of traffic and crashed into the center median guardrail before flipping the truck, troopers said. 

Rando told troopers he may have hit something in the road, which caused him to lose control of the truck. 

Rando, along with two other passengers, Nicole Beard, 37, and an 11-year-old boy were taken to Halifax Hospital in Daytona, troopers said. 

A fourth passenger, a 10-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
