SANFORD, Fla. - George Zimmerman bonded out of jail Saturday afternoon after he was arrested in Seminole County.
A representative for the Seminole County Sheriff's Office tells our news partner WKMG in Orlando, Zimmerman was booked into the jail around 10 p.m. Friday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident apparently occurred several days ago at a home in Lake Mary. Police launched their investigation and made the arrest on Friday. It all came about after Zimmerman allegedly threw a wine bottle at a girlfriend, his lawyer Don West told reporters on Saturday morning.
Zimmerman appeared in court Saturday, with the judge setting his bond at $5000.
He was acquitted in 2013 for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
