Huge eyeball washes up on Florida beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Scientists are trying to figure out what type of animal lost an eyeball that washed up on a South Florida beach this week.

A man was walking on Pompano Beach on Wednesday when he saw the eyeball in the sand.

The man called for help and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded.

FWC scientists plan to preserve the eyeball and have it taken to a lab in St. Petersburg, where they will try to identify what type of animal it
