LAND O'LAKES, FLa. - A Florida jail is soon going to give some inmates access to email. The jail is going to use email accounts through "SmartJailMail".

Pasco County Jail will soon have 77 kiosks in the housing units. The inmates will be able to access and send email. Those receiving email from the inmates must have approved accounts. The emails are going to cost 50-cents each.

People will also be allowed to send pictures but inmates aren't getting the privilege to send photos through email. Any photo added is going to cost $1 each.

Taxpayers won't have to worry as to who's going to pay for inmates to have access to email. According to Sheriff Chris Nooco the SmartJailMail system is going to be of no cost to taxpayers.

Along with email. the kiosks will offer inmates ways to organize social service programs, it'll offer library services and inmates will get to schedule chaplain meetings.
