Inside Miami Gardens home after double murder

Annette Anderson, Tyrone Walker Jr. found dead inside home

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – As police continue their search for whoever murdered a 69-year-old woman and her 20-year-old grandson inside a Miami Gardens home, the victims' relatives got their first look inside of the house.

Police found the bodies of Annette Anderson and Tyrone Walker Jr. (pictured below) inside a home at Northwest 207th Street and 34th Court on Tuesday morning.

"We're standing where their bodies were -- underneath here is drenched with blood, that is covered with sheets and towels, that's underneath us," said Pastor Virgil Walker. "This is the pillows that they used to cover them to muffle the sound from the gunshots."

"I wanted to see the area where these animals had killed my son," said Tyrone Walker Sr.

Carolyn Walker not only lost her son, but also her mother, a pastor who ministered to thousands over the years, many in her home.

"When I walked in his room it just said 'TJ.' The room had TJ all over it," said Carolyn. "Dirty underwear on the floor. Dirty socks on the floor. His clean laundry piled on the bed. All those things I used to tell him about don't seem so important anymore."

Relatives believed Anderson likely welcomed in a familiar or friendly face. While the family tried to make sense of what happened, they took comfort in believing, and held on to their faith and their memories.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood Thursday afternoon, going door to door, handing out fliers, and hoping to develop leads.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers also raised its reward to $3,000 for information in the double murder.
