ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies in St. Johns County are trying to figure out who slashed 101 vehicle tires over the weekend in three neighborhoods in the northwestern part of the county.
Deputies said the tires were on 28 cars at 17 homes in Durbin Crossing North, Aberdeen and the Julington Creek Plantation on Sunday morning.

"You like to think your neighborhood is safe," said Brodie Waters. Waters told Channel 4 Tuesday night just how many of his neighbor's tires were slashed by an unknown suspect.
"Since every body lost four tires everybody had to have flatbed tow trucks," said Brodie Waters. "A busy street with tow trucks coming in."
Thirteen cars at eight homes in the 1600 block of Fenton Avenue had tires slashed. The majority of them had all four tires damaged.
Nearby, there were thirteen vehicles at seven homes in the 1700 block of Pennan Place that had tires damaged.
In addition, there was one vehicle that had three tires damaged in the 400 block of Chattan Way and three more tires from another vehicle at a home in the 100 block of Mahogany Bay Drive.
St. Johns County Sheriff's Commander, Chuck Mulligan said the vandals moved through three sub-divisons all in the Julington Creek area in the early morning hours.
"I have not seen in 25 years 100 tires puntured in what appears to be the course of 12-18 hours time, kinda random where no one was directly a target of that vandalism, it's just random," said Mulligan.
Brodie Waters said the mess cost him about $2,800. The estimated cost to replace all of the damaged tires was more than $22,000.
