Biden's Florida swing stops in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A flurry of campaign stops across Florida from both parties continues Saturday as Vice President Joe Biden attends a rally at the Ketterlinus Gymnasium in St. Augustine.

The Obama campaign is calling the 1 p.m. rally at Orange Street community center a grassroots event that will focus on "moving the country forward with the president's economic plan."

It's Biden's only public event scheduled Saturday after campaign appearances Friday near Tampa and Fort Pierce and an unscheduled visit to a Dairy Queen in Orlando.

Introducing his daughter at one Friday rally, Biden said he and Obama want young women "to have every single solitary opportunity to control their lives … as my son and my grandson," but that Romney and Ryan "do not believe a woman has the right to control her own body. … They don't believe in protecting a woman's access to health care."

Republican vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan wrapped up two days of campaign stops across Florida with a joint appearance with Mitt Romney in Daytona Beach on Friday night.

Speaking to donors in Boca Raton on Friday, Ryan said that restoring the country's free enterprise system is the best way to help the poor and to help people help themselves.

"We don't want to replace it, we want to revitalize it," the Wisconsin congressman said. "That's what we're about. We're about growth, we're about opportunity, We're about restoring the American dream of opportunity and upward mobility."

Florida's 29 electoral votes are the biggest prize among the country's swing states.

Attention on Florida will remain high through Tuesday, as the third and final presidential debate will take place Monday night at Lynn University at Boca Raton.
