Deputies recover guns, laptops stolen from cars

14-year-old charged, 17-year-old sought in connection with car burglaries

A 14-year-old has been charged and deputies are searching for a 17-year-old in connection with a series of car break-ins in the northwest part of St. Johns County.

Deputies said guns and laptop computers stolen from unlocked vehicles have been recovered.

Detectives identified and arrested a 14-year-old boy, who News4Jax is not naming because of his age, on charges of armed burglary to a conveyance and grand theft. He is being detained by the Juvenile Justice Department.

Deputies are searching for a second teen, 17-year-old Noah Jacob Pringle, in connection with the break-ins.

The teens are charged in a car burglary from Feb. 17 at a home on Marlee Road. They are also suspected in four other vehicle burglaries on Marlee Road, as well as burglaries on Sheffield and Lee roads, deputies said.

As the investigation continues, detectives are stressing the importance of securing valuables and locking doors.
