In 2009-2010 the 107th MPAD provided all levels of public affairs support to Joint Task Force Guantanamo, which has a primary mission to conduct safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detainees.

The 107th was responsible for "The Wire," a weekly command newsletter and kept the task force public and internal web sites updated. Soldiers also facilitated weekly U.S. and international media representatives visiting JTF Guantanamo's detention facilities. During this deployment the unit will be performing a similar mission.

The military deployment ceremony at the National Guard Armory will include families, friends, dignitaries and military leaders from the Florida National Guard.
