St. Augustine police investigate home invasion robbery

Police say 2 men armed with weapons ransacked home

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Augustine Police Department is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred last week on M.L. King Avenue.

Just before 10 p.m. Thursday, police said, the victims reported they heard a knock on their door and as one of them opened the door, two black men with bandanas covering their faces ran into the home.

The two men, who were both armed with a weapon, ransacked several rooms in the house before taking off, police said. 

A K-9 from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office assisted officers in a search for the two men, police said.

The men were described as being in their 20s and ranging in height from 6-feet to 6-feet-4-inches tall. One man was described as being "thin" and the other as having a "medium build," police said.

According to the Police Department, investigators believe it was an isolated incident and residents are not in danger.
