Woman gets deal, pleads guilty in Beason case

LINCOLN, Ill. - A Florida woman once charged with providing a false alibi for a man recently convicted of killing his ex-wife's family has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Logan County officials say Sara Duncan of Sarasota, Fla., has pleaded guilty to resisting a peace officer in a deal approved May 17. According to The Pantagraph in Bloomington, Duncan will serve 24 months of probation.

Duncan was visiting her daughter and the daughter's boyfriend, Jason Harris, in Illinois in September 2009 when Raymond "Rick" Gee, his wife, Ruth Gee, and three of the couple's young children were killed in Beason.

Jason Harris' brother, Christopher Harris, was found guilty last week in the deaths. The brothers had been out drinking and using drugs.

Christopher Harris was once married to Rick Gee's daughter.
