Reward offered in case of arson at Georgia dentist office
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Authorities say up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a case of arson that severely damaged at Georgia dental office.
Savannah Fire Rescue tweeted Thursday that anyone with information about the Saturday fire can call the state arson hotline.
Fire spokeswoman Jenel Few says surveillance video shows a person setting fire to pine straw in the back of the empty dental officer near the building’s main gas meter. Firefighters were called to the scene 30 minutes later and found the building engulfed in flames.
Fire officials say the blaze was being fueled by the natural gas line, and firefighters fought the blaze for four hours until gas company crews were able to cap the underground gas line. No injuries were reported.
