Georgia surpasses 9,000 coronavirus-related deaths, 2 reported in Glynn County

The Georgia Department of Public Health on Monday reported 37 additional deaths related to the coronavirus and 4,875 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, two deaths were reported in Glynn County and 32 cases were reported in the Southeast Georgia counties tracked by News4Jax.

The state has now reported a total of 9,007 confirmed deaths since the start of the pandemic.

As of Monday, a total of 448,683 confirmed cases had been reported by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the state Department of Public Health, 4,521,060 tests have been performed in the state, which had a 9.3% positivity rate, as of Monday.

Georgia was reporting a total of 58,007 antigen positive cases and 844 “probable” deaths on Monday. For more on those categories, click here.

On Monday, 231 additional hospitalizations were reported, bringing the state’s total to 36,270 since the outbreak began.
