The system still has to go through testing

ATLANTA, Ga. - Atlanta city officials say the streetcar system has been delayed.

The system was scheduled to start operations this summer.  It won't be until November until the streetcar system begins operations.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a Atlanta Streetcar Director Tim Borchers says there's still some preparations the system must go through including testing.  Borchers says federal authorities and the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority must also give approval.

The system broke ground in February 2012.  Since then the streetcar has suffered schedule delays and overrun cost.
