Camden sheriff offers daily telephone safety checks

Free service for homebound, elderly, other citizens who could benefit

WOODBINE, Ga. – The Camden County Sheriff's Office offers daily telephone call safety checks to citizens through its "Are You OK?" service.

This free service is for the homebound, the unassisted, the elderly or any other citizen who would benefit from a daily check. Dispatchers call citizens enrolled in the program at a daily designated time and speak to the person to make sure they are OK.

If there is no answer to the first call, a second call is made shortly thereafter. If the second call brings no response, "appropriate measures are taken to make contact with the person and determine their status."

Anyone interested in registering must fill out a short application available at the Sheriff's Office in Woodbine or can call the office at 912-510-5100.
