Brunswick gets police cruiser named Silent Justice

Battery-powered electric car to patrol downtown streets

Headline Goes Here

BRUNSWICK, Ga. - A new kind of police cruiser is hitting the streets of Brunswick, and officers are calling it Silent Justice.

The Brunswick Police Department's newest addition is a battery-powered vehicle that resembles a large golf cart. It will be used to patrol the port city's downtown area.

Police Chief Tobe Green held a contest to let Brunswick residents choose a name for the new patrol cart. It was resident Joel Brantley who came up with Silent Justice, and he got to help the chief unveil the name stenciled across the top of the cart's windshield Friday.

Police say Silent Justice beat out more than 280 other suggested names including Cart 54, Crime Zapper and Sparky.
