BRUNSWICK, Ga. – A father and son accused of shooting a Brunswick woman in the face during a home invasion were arrested after their speeding SUV overturned as they tried to flee police.
Joe Demery, 44, and Joshua Demery, 26, are both charged with aggravated assault and burglary.
According to Brunswick police, a woman found the pair in her Godley Road home just before noon Thursday.
Deputies said she was shot in the face during a scuffle, but managed to get into her vehicle and try to leave.
A neighbor called 911.
The victim was hospitalized, but her condition was not immediately known.
Glynn County police officers responding to the house saw a Jeep Cherokee fleeing the neighborhood and pursued it for about 25 miles at speeds up to 120 mph before it hit stop sticks deployed by Glynn County police on the approach to the the Sydney Lanier Bridge.
The speeding SUV rolled seven times before coming to a stop. One suspect was trapped in the wrecked SUV. The other took off, but was captured a couple hours later.

Dozens of police officers from several agencies, many heavily armed and some with tracking dogs, were involved in the search.
The law enforcement activity kept the southbound lanes of the bridge closed until just before 4 p.m., when the second suspect was found hiding almost submerged in mud.
The victim is currently being treated at Savannah Memorial Hospital. Police said they are still investigating the incidents.
