Fugitive arrested in Brunswick shooting

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – A man sought in connection with the shooting of another man last month in Brunswick was arrested Monday morning.

Investigators said Joseph Edwards was taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Team and the Glynn Brunswick Violent Crimes Task Force about 11:30 a.m. at the McGarvey Apartment Complex on Lanier Boulevard.

Edwards was wanted in connection with the Jan. 29 shooting of Donte Flournoy at the intersection of Wolfe and N streets.

Edwards is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in a commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Brunswick Police Department said it appreciates the public's help in this case.
