JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - On August 28, the Jackson's lives were turned upside down, when police say a van ran a stop sign and crashed into JaNay's Jackson's bedroom, killing her.

Friends and family say JaNay touched many lives.

Hundreds gathered Saturday for a funeral service at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home to remember the 17-year-old student.

The Wolfson High School drum major was ranked third in her senior class, and dreamed of becoming a nurse practitioner.

JaNay's body was laid to rest at the Greenlawn Cemetery.

Police say the driver, Ismet Sijamhodzic, ran a stop sign, and crashed into the bedroom of her Southside home.

So far no charges have been filed against the Sijamhodzic. Police are waiting for toxicology reports.
