Jet carrying Sinbad strikes birds on takeoff

Aircraft returns safely to airport; no injuries reported

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Delta Airlines flight with famed comedian Sinbad on board struck birds during takeoff from the Jacksonville International Airport on Saturday. 

An airport spokesperson confirmed that Delta Flight 2380 to Atlanta struck birds during takeoff. The aircraft safely returned to JIA shortly after. There were no injuries reported in the incident, the spokesperson said.

A Delta spokesperson said a different aircraft will be used when the flight will take off at 4:10 p.m. 

Sinbad sent a tweet saying, "Engine was jacked and a little blood on the cowling."
