Police said the girl was sitting in a car that was hit by bullets, breaking the glass, which cut her.

She was taken by a citizen to a local hospital, where doctors initially thought she might have a gunshot wound, but they determined her injury was caused by the glass, not a bullet, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said a home was also sprayed with bullets in the shooting, but they have no description of the shooter or the vehicle involved.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call JSO at 904-630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
